AIPPI GROUP UAE was able to run today (April 19, 2024) a very interesting and well attended webinar on Intellectual Property in Artificial Intelligence.

Mr John Osha of Osha Bergman Watanabe & Burton LLP (BWB IP) was able to speak in the webinar during his stay in Dubai.

The webinar started with a welcoming note by the President of AIPPI UAE Hoda Barakat. The webinar was moderated by Paul Muscat (an AIPPI UAE member) who also addressed many questions and summarized the attendees with some useful takeaways.

During the session and among many other important notes, John OSHA was able to give his insights on the definition of AI, brief the audiences on the latest developments of claims in various areas for hashtag#IP and AI, case laws in the US on using prior arts and materials.

Inventorship of AI-assisted inventions, sufficiency of disclosure for patents claiming applications of AI, use of copyrighted material as training data for hashtag#AI systems were also covered.
