Yesterday, 29 February 2024 saw AIPPI GROUP UAE well represented in the first *Middle East Fashion Law Forum: Fashioning the Future* that happened in #Dubai.

Malek HANNOUF, Chairman of the Gulf BPG and AIPPI UAE Board Member gave a keynote speech and Hoda Barakat, President of the AIPPI UAE moderated an excellent Panel of speakers in person and online. Nicole Giblin, Board Member of the AIPPI UAE gave excellent, practical insights into trademark and IP protection in the fashion industry. Other distinguished speakers were: Ramzi Modad (General Counsel for the Family Office of Chalhoub Group), Amira Fayad, CIPP/E, CIPM (in-house counsel for Seddiqi Holding), Ghada Qaisi Audi (co-founder of the “Made in Italy” luxury women’s footwear brand TARO ISHIDA) and Christine Blaise-Engel (co-chair of the IBA Fashion and Luxury conference 2024). The speakers brought a wealth of diverse and varied views on the legal, regulatory and practical challenges and opportunities in the fashion sector.

The Forum was well attended and had positive feedback. The event was organised by Sader Legal and it was proactively supported by the AIPPI UAE Group and many of its members.
