Under the auspices of and in the presence of His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq Almarri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, yesterday saw the Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s third Hewar event (Dialogue 2025) at the Umm Suqeim Majlis in Dubai. Also, in attendance were His Excellency Abdulla Alsaleh, Undersecretary and His Excellency DR.ABDELRAHMAN ALMUAINI, Assistant Undersecretary for the IP Sector.

His Excellency the Minister was interviewed by our President, Hoda Barakat and then the attendees, who came from the private and public sectors, also asked questions. The message was clear from all who attended that the UAE is the leader in the region in the field of IP and has taken huge steps to protect IP through many excellent initiatives. His Excellency the Minister was keen to emphasise the need to focus on the next stage of development: commercialisation of IP and how this is the Ministry’s drive moving forward whether through lower fees (as per their recent decision), awareness, education and focus on SME’s and academia.

At the end of the Hewar event, there was a MOU signing between the Ministry of Economy and Tourism and the AIPPI GROUP UAE and other entities. The MOU will strengthen the already great partnership and cooperation with the private sector.
