A “Hiwar” session at the traditional Umm Suqeim Majlis was organized and held by the Ministry of Economy & Tourism on the 12th of December. It was attended by many of the hashtag#IP professionals and members of the AIPPI UAE group.

The event started with warm welcoming remarks by the UAE Ministry of Economy Undersecretary Assistant for the IP sector DR.ABDELRAHMAN ALMUAINI followed by briefing notes from the heads of relevant Intellectual property functions, i.e. Trademark Department, Cooyirght and Neighboring Rights Department, and the Patent and Industrial Property Department.

This the second time for (Hiwar) initiative to be initiated by the Minsitey of Economy as it helps to build bridges in the industry, exchange ideas, gives the opportunity to listen to the IP professionals and industry.

The term “Hiwar” stands for “open talks, discussions and exchanging of thoughts” and having this held at the traditional UAE hospitality location (Majlis) demonstrates the high level of hospitality offered to the invited guests and attendees.

Dr. Muaini handed over certificates and awards of appreciations to a selection of companies, individuals, and organizations.
